I have been interested in design since my childhood, and chose it as a path after graduating High-school in Riga, Latvia in 2012.

 

Driven by a passion for Scandinavian design, I went to Denmark, to study Fashion Design and Business at TEKO Design and Business School.

 

In 2014 I graduated AP in Design, Technology and Business.

Currently I am based in London, UK studying Fashion Design Technology: Womenswear at London College of Fashion and working on my own projects. 

 

I am constantly looking for new ideas, fabrics, materials and colours and I strive to find a way to differentiate my works from others. Through my studies I have learned not only how to create my own collection, from idea development to final product, but also how to adapt to an existing brand's DNA. I enjoy every step of the design process, from research and design development to the creation of the product.

 

My work includes Womenswear, Menswear and Fashion illustrations.

I find inspiration in architecture, interesting shapes and textures, as well as nature and innovative materials.

My most recent collaboration was with cello-trio band Melo-M. I designed and made a costume for the main character in music video “Canticum Silva”. 

In 2014 I had an internship at fashion label KETA GUTMANE.
My tasks included:

Help in preparing for Paris Fashion Week and participating in Riga Fashion Week. Write descriptions for her new collection and create look-book SS 15’. Make visual materials- later used in presenting the new collection in press and sales resources. Participating in photo shoots and fittings, updating the web-page and potential market research.
 

In 2013 I had an internship at fashion brand KATYA KATYA SHEHURINA.
My tasks included:

Company’s design DNA research and analysis;

development of the New collection, implementing innovative, new fabric;
inspiration gathering in a book (InDesign/Photoshop);
describing target group (visually and verbally);

making collages, choosing fabrics and colours;
free-hand sketching and technical flats (Adobe Illustrator);

writing Press release, pattern making and final product dress- sewing.

 

I also had 4 summer internship at the interior company Krassky, a curator of the industry’s most cutting-edge design products.
